September 2017: Leading quartz surface manufacturer, Caesarstone, in collaboration with world renowned Spanish designer Jaime Hayon, will be debuting their celebrated installation, Stone Age Folk, at this year’s Interior Design Show Vancouver (IDS Vancouver). The world’s first look at this playful universe, designed by Hayon and using Caesarstone surfaces, took place at Interior Design Show Toronto earlier this January. The evolutionary designs were then presented in an exciting new way at Milan Design Week in April at Palazzo Serbelloni. Pieces showcased in Toronto and Milan will now unite for the first time in Vancouver to take the city by storm at the hotly anticipated design fair taking place September 26 – October 1, 2017.

Stone Age Folk welcomes visitors into a fantasy world made of different colours, forms and shapes. Imagined with the eccentric spirit and signature playfulness of Hayon, this installation will showcase unique, handcrafted pieces designed with Caesarstone materials. Combining various components from the exhibits debuted in Toronto and Milan, including Hayon’s signature clowns faces and interactive, circus-like elements, such as interactive carousels, the folkloric installation will be a fantastical creation that visitors have never seen before. This will conclude the overall vision behind the year-long collaboration for Caesarstone’s 2017 Designer Collaboration Programme.

“Through the visionary eyes of the incredible Jaime Hayon, Caesarstone’s signature quartz will be presented at this year’s IDS Vancouver in a way that again incites new levels of beauty and durability. The signature playfulness and curiosity found in all of Hayon’s work will encourage people to interact with Caesarstone materials and their applications in a fresh and unexpected way.” Elizabeth Margles, VP of Marketing at Caesarstone.

“Working with Caesarstone quartz this past year has transcended my hopes and my expectations with its versatility to transform and adapt to my different usages for the material, whether it be functional or completely surreal. In experimenting with its luminosity, texture and all-encompassing qualities, I’ve found boundless possibilities in bringing novel ideas to life. This includes using the quartz to build furniture pieces and combining it with complex materials, such as metal and stained glass.” Jaime Hayon, Designer.
