At Caesarstone, we’re driven by a passion for design, the determination to consistently innovate quartz surfaces, and our responsibility to protect the people working in our industry. While design inspiration and installation tips are incredibly useful, health & safety information is crucial in supporting the well-being of our fabricators, installers, and everyone involved in quartz fabrication. Read on for more on the proactive steps we’re taking to help. If you missed the previous blogs in our Professional Fabrication Series, you can find them here and be sure to check out this video for a full review of the quartz countertop fabrication process.

Tools and Resources

Though many fabricators prefer working with quartz because it is unlikely to crack and is easy to polish, there is the hazard of being exposed to silica dust. To promote a safe working environment for all, we created our Master of Stone program. From information on airborne dust monitoring to the importance of wearing the correct PPE to proper cleaning, maintenance, and hygiene, it’s a comprehensive guide to hazard prevention in the stone fabrication industry.

Safe and Secure

We spoke with Marco Corrente of the Master of Stone Certified business, Unique Store Fixtures in Concord, Ontario. He feels that completing the training with his team has positively impacted his business in that he’s given employees “a more secure work environment and a safer work environment.” Corrente has also noticed that having a more knowledgeable team “has increased production and given our customers a sense of safety.”

Even the most experienced fabricators can find safety guidelines to be complicated and confusing. Join the over 2000 fabrication shops that have completed our training modules since the program launched in March 2020, and take the guesswork out of dealing with hazardous dust and maintaining a safe workplace.
